RIP H.R. 3200: The House healthcare bill could be dead.

While many democrats have distanced themselves from the public option included in H.R. 3200, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not. It seems as though she has failed to realize the controversy surrounding it, as she insisted on Tuesday that any healthcare bill passed in the House, MUST include a public option. The same day, House Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer (No. 2 in the House) contradicted Speaker Pelosi. Hoyer said he favors dropping the public option, as he is doubtful that it could actually pass... more

Obama’s radio interview with Michael Smerconish

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On August - 22 - 20091 COMMENT

Thursday, President Obama sat down for an interview with quasi-conservative Michael Smerconish, on his nationally syndicated radio show. One caller asked him “what legislation must include,” in order for him to sign it. She mentioned illegal immigrants and Obama couldn’t get off the subject. In fact, he spent about a minute trying to convince her that covering illegal immigrants was not the goal. The funny thing is… she never said it was. Defensive? Here’s the video: AKPC_IDS... more

Big Brother: The White House Healthcare Police strike again!

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On August - 5 - 20094 COMMENTS

Until today, I thought I had seen it all. I thought I had seen the extent of the deplorable tactics the White House is willing to employ. I thought the government had grown so big and bloated, that we would soon see the end of this trend. I thought the crowds of angry people, screaming at their Representatives, would be the pin that popped the balloon. I thought that organic hostility would put this big-government bureaucracy in-check. Wow, was I wrong! This has gone from President Obama, sounding... more

The White House responds to yesterday’s video.

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On August - 4 - 20091 COMMENT

Yesterday, I posted a video that features uncovered clips of Obama from a few years ago. The video shows Obama and Democratic lawmakers, stating their healthcare agenda. More specifically, their plan to create a single-payer system that would make private insurance a thing of the past. To me, the most interesting part of this video is not what Obama says, it’s what Congressman Barney Frank says. The footage of Obama is from more than two years ago, the footage of Barney Frank is from last week!... more

Straight from the horse’s mouth: Private insurance “eliminated!”

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On August - 3 - 20093 COMMENTS

Last week, I wrote a post detailing America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200). In that post, I expressed concerns that H.R. 3200 would drive private insurance companies out of business. Although this bill is portrayed as being about “choices” and “options,” I think the ultimate goal of this legislation is to create a government healthcare monopoly, just like Canada and the UK. But don’t take my word for it… just listen to the President. He said... more

D-Bag of the Week: Rep. John Conyers

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On July - 30 - 20091 COMMENT

This week’s winner, won in a landslide. There were no other candidates that even came close. I didn’t even have to think in awarding Rep. John Conyers of Michigan. Earlier this week, the democratic Congressman spoke at a National Press Club luncheon. In reference to H.R. 3200, Rep. Conyers said this: “What good is reading the bill if it’s a thousand pages and you don’t have two days and two lawyers to find out what it means after you read the bill?” Now, I don’t... more

Shepard Smith echoes my concerns.

A few days ago, I wrote a post on current healthcare reform efforts. More specifically, House bill, H.R. 3200. In that post, I expressed many concerns and exposed several holes in the bill. Two of my biggest concerns, are the fact that private insurance companies would be unable to deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions, and that those companies would have to compete with the federal government. It is my belief that these provisions would drive private insurers out of business. Here are... more

Maxine Waters blames Rahm Emanuel for healthcare stall.

Posted by Joe Templeton, YSP Executive Editor On July - 29 - 2009ADD COMMENTS

The “Blue Dogs” may have reached an agreement with the more liberal Democrats in the House, but tension and feuds within the Democratic Party are just starting to heat up, and they’ll have the entire month of August to stew. Rep. Maxine Waters, a Democrat from California, was interviewed yesterday on MSNBC. She used the opportunity to throw blame at White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, if you can believe that. Ha ha ha, Rep. Waters is really grabbing for grass with this theory.... more
