While many democrats have distanced themselves from the public option included in H.R. 3200, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has not. It seems as though she has failed to realize the controversy surrounding it, as she insisted on Tuesday that any healthcare bill passed in the House, MUST include a public option. Thursday, President Obama sat down for an interview with quasi-conservative Michael Smerconish, on his nationally syndicated radio show. One caller asked him “what legislation must include,” in order for him to sign it. She mentioned illegal immigrants and Obama couldn’t get off the subject. Until today, I thought I had seen it all. I thought I had seen the extent of the deplorable tactics the White House is willing to employ. I thought the government had grown so big and bloated, that we would soon see the end of this trend. Yesterday, I posted a video that features uncovered clips of Obama from a few years ago. The video shows Obama and Democratic lawmakers, stating their healthcare agenda. More specifically, their plan to create a single-payer system that would make private insurance a thing of the past. Last week, I wrote a post detailing America’s Affordable Health Choices Act (H.R. 3200). In that post, I expressed concerns that H.R. 3200 would drive private insurance companies out of business. Although this bill is portrayed as being about “choices” and “options,” I think the ultimate goal of this legislation is to create a government healthcare monopoly, just like Canada and the UK. A few days ago, I wrote a post on current healthcare reform efforts. More specifically, House bill, H.R. 3200. In that post, I expressed many concerns and exposed several holes in the bill. Two of my biggest concerns, are the fact that private insurance companies would be unable to deny coverage because of pre-existing conditions, and that those companies would have to compete with the federal government. The “Blue Dogs” may have reached an agreement with the more liberal Democrats in the House, but tension and feuds within the Democratic Party are just starting to heat up, and they’ll have the entire month of August to stew. Rep. Maxine Waters, a Democrat from California, was interviewed yesterday on MSNBC. She used the opportunity to throw blame at White House Chief of Staff, Rahm Emanuel, if you can believe that.
