Today, the House will vote on The American Clean Energy and Security Act, otherwise known as the “Waxman-Markey bill.” The proposed measure, would attempt to cut greenhouse gas emissions and promote renewable energy. The question is, how? The Waxman-Markey bill is of the “cap and trade” variety. For those of you not familiar with cap and trade, I’ll explain. Cap and trade legislation puts a cap on how much pollution companies can emit. These restrictions are applied... more

Farrah Forgotten?

Is it just me, or did the media forget that Farrah Fawcett died yesterday too? Ever since the news of Jacko’s death, poor Farrah has been relegated the shadows. The media wasn’t even able to devote one full day to mourning. Not that I realistically expected them to hold off on talking about Jackson’s death, but they could have at least split the airtime a little better. I know that Jacko is good for ratings but what’s right, is right. Poor Farrah. She was such a beautiful... more

Michael Jackson shocked the world with his death yesterday afternoon. By all indications, there was no sign that he was in bad health. Well, physically anyway. He was actually quite active, in preparing for a tour across Europe and Asia. He even rehearsed at the Staples Center, the night before his death! Go figure huh? Silly foreigners. At age 50, after all his psychotic behavior, the rest of the world can’t get enough of him. People still love and respect him in America, obviously. But his... more

Protesters have flooded the streets of Tehran since Iran’s presidential election, on June 12th. It is alleged by the protesters, that the election was stolen by President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, who reportedly won 63% of the vote. Many have questioned the validity of this wide margin of victory and have demanded a recount. The demonstrations have been mostly peaceful. Even so, they have been met with much opposition from the Iranian government. At this point, no journalists are even allowed in... more

Heidi-crite

According to TMZ, Heidi Montag has already completed her Playboy shoot, for the September issue of the magazine. Heidi has maintained that her spread will be “very classy,” ever since the rumors began. However, it leaves me wondering: How classy can millions of men, jerking-off to pictures of you, ever really be? I mean, if that’s the standard, don’t look down your nose at Jenna Jameson, Heidi. Really, what’s the difference? Heidi has already answered this question... more

D-Bag of the Week: Perez Hilton

This week, the always annoying Perez Hilton, cried on his video blog about being assaulted by The Black Eyed Peas’ manager, Polo Molina. The video was posted in response to another video posted on Will.i.am’s blog, detailing his account of what happened. Will.i.am’s video isn’t nearly as entertaining… probably because he’s coherent and completely rational about the incident. Perez’s video on the other hand, is very funny. Although, it is quite long (11 minutes... more
