More from the White House, on the “enemies list.”

Obama Visits AARP in Wasington

As most of you know, last week I wrote a post in response to a White House blog post. The White House post was written by Macon Phillips, a White House staffer, and featured a video of Linda Douglass, another White House staffer. Their post was an attempt to debunk “disinformation,” supposedly propagated by “anti-reformists,” like myself. The White House blog post titled, “Facts Are Stubborn Things,” created a firestorm because it called on average citizens, to report “fishy” healthcare emails. Basically, if a coworker sends you an Obamacare email that sounds “fishy,” they want you to report that, by forwarding the email to flag@whitehouse.gov. I know, creepy.

Many people, like myself, are concerned that the White House is collecting information on the opposition. Many feel the Obama Administration is compiling an “enemies list,” a charge that Obama refuted yesterday, at a townhall meeting.

Whether their intention is to compile an “enemies list” or not, is irrelevant. They are. The Presidential Records Act of 1978, requires White House Administrations to keep all records intact, so they can eventually be made public. It’s very similar to the Freedom of Information Act, in that it was designed to keep the American People “in the loop,” so we know what’s going on. Even if the White House wanted to delete the emails people forward them, they can’t. Eventually, these emails will become public record, by law. The White House knows this, that’s why they asked for them.

Richard Nixon

During the Watergate hearings (United States vs. Richard Nixon), it was revealed that President Nixon, in cooperation with J. Edgar Hoover, created two secret programs to collect information on US Citizens. Sound familiar? The programs were called “COINTELPRO (Counter Intelligence Program)” and “The Houston Plan.” These programs used FBI and CIA agents, as well as plain-clothed military, to photograph the faces and record the voices of anti-war protestors, during the Vietnam Era. Nixon justified these programs by saying they were “essential” to national security. The Supreme Court did not agree. In fact, the court ruled that these programs were a blatant infringement on the First Amendment, and hampered free speech.

So how is the Obama Administration compiling emails, any different than what Nixon did? I’m sure the answer is going to piss you off, because it’s a legal technicality. Don’t you effing hate those?! Me too. The difference is… Nixon sent his minions out to photograph people and record their voices, the photographs and recordings were not sent to him, by average citizens. The Obama administration on the other hand, simply requested that citizens forward “fishy” emails. In this case, the shady President in question is simply RECEIVING information, that people willingly send. He is not ACTIVELY OBTAINING it, like Nixon. And with the Presidential Records Act, preventing the Obama administration from deleting emails they “just happen to receive,” there hands are effectively tied.

The White House claims that they requested these emails so they can “answer questions” about healthcare reform. I think their intention is far more sinister, no matter what they say. In my post from last week, I said I was going to report myself to the White House, by sending a link to my article on healthcare. Well, I did. I created a fake Gmail account, and reported myself to the White House “Thought Police.” Here’s the email:

Hi,
My name is Georgia and I saw on the TV that y’all are looking for people who are spreading lies about President Obama’s healthcare plan. While browsing the internet, I came across an article that seems a little “fishy.” Here is the link:http://www.youngsexypolitics.com/?p=793

Now, I don’t know if the gentleman who wrote this is lying about the bill, but it sure does seem suspicious. It’s just too hard to believe. He says the government is trying to establish a monopoly on healthcare, by driving private insurance companies out of business. He also says that the government wants to come to our home and tell us how to raise our kids! I told you it sounds crazy!

I love President Obama and I wouldn’t want anyone thinking poorly of him. I just know he’s a trustworthy man, who would never sign a bill like that! Anyway, let me know if there’s anything else you need from me.

Like my reference to George Orwell? Ha ha, me too. Anyway, I’m calling the White House’s explanation bunk! They claim they just want to “answer questions.” Well then, how come “Georgia” never got a response? For all they know, she’s some sweet old lady, desperately confused by all the “disinformation” she’s hearing!

People, regardless of how Obama tries to twist this, with his soaring rhetoric, here’s what’s going on: The White House knows they can’t send people out to collect information. That know they can’t use the FBI and CIA, to covertly monitor US Citizens. They know they can’t intercept your emails, or make lists of websites like mine. They saw what happened to Nixon and they don’t want that. However, they know they ARE allowed to receive emails. So… they requested that everyday average Joes, send them any and all material that denounces Obama’s healthcare plan. This works out perfectly for them, because federal law prohibits them from deleting said emails, once received. So, Obama can say the White House is not compiling an “enemies list” all he wants, it won’t change the facts. They are. The email that “Georgia” sent to flag@whitehouse.gov, with a link to my site… will NEVER be deleted. At some point, that email will be public record, posted somewhere on the internet. That means, when this shitty bill doesn’t pass, all the whack-jobs who supported it will have my information, and “Georgia’s” information. That way, they can badger us with nasty emails, for not supporting socialism… possibly deterring “us” from speaking-out in the future, for fear of retaliation. Disgusting.

Obama's vacation on Martha's Vineyard

This morning, I was watching America’s Newsroom… great show. In fact, I always start my day with Megyn Kelly and Bill Hemmer. Today, Megyn interviewed the White House Deputy Press Secretary, Bill Burton. For those of you who don’t know, the word “deputy” that precedes his title, basically means “assistant.” This guy is essentially Robert Gibbs’ sidekick. Anyway, the interview is over 7 minutes long, but it should have been like 45 seconds. Megyn Kelly asked Bill Burton a very, very simple question. All she wanted to know is, whether or not the White House will delete the emails forwarded to flag@whitehouse.gov. See? Simple! This guy spent 7 minutes dodging the question, constantly changing the subject, without one-tenth the poise and charisma of his boss, Barry. You can’t pull it off like the President, Bill! Stop trying! Megyn finally got a partial answer, after 3 minutes and 55 seconds, when Mr. Burton said “Why would we delete them from the White House records?” Megyn was baiting Mr. Burton, like any good journalist/attorney would do. She was trying to catch him in a lie. She wanted him to say they WOULD delete the emails. However, he didn’t fall for it. So, around 4:17 in the video, she mentions the fact that both she and Mr. Burton are both well aware of the Presidential Records Act. Burton responds by saying “None of that information is made public for a very long time.” Ha! As if that matters Bill! The point is, the White House is keeping these emails, and they will eventually be made public! That’s all we need to know. This whole thing is shady, and reeks of censorship. Poor “Georgia.”
