Last week, Rock the Vote released a YouTube video encouraging young people to use sex in the debate over health care reform. The video features Eva Amurri of Californication and Zach Gilford of Friday Night Lights, who advocate flirting, lying, and even withholding sex from people who don’t support current health care reform efforts! The video ends with both actors asking viewers to join them in a pledge to “never, ever f*ck” anyone who opposes Rock the Vote’s stance on... more

D-Bag of the Week: The Democratic Senator
It’s no secret that Democrats are doing all they can to ram their health care bill through the Senate. The Obama administration has invested a ton of political capital, in a promise to reform health care by year’s end. Therefore, it’s no surprise that the pressure is on for members of the President’s party. Harry Reid has repeatedly stated his plan to vote on health care by Christmas. The Associated Press reported yesterday that the Majority Leader will likely meet his deadline,... more
The perks of a politician – Part II
Back in July, I wrote a piece on the perks of holding public office. In that post, I discussed the jet-setting ways of Speaker Pelosi and others in Congress. It’s not uncommon for elected officials to take lavish trips on the taxpayers’ dime. Just yesterday, the Wall Street Journal posted another story about the abuse of power in Washington. According to the WSJ, 12 lawmakers, led by Rep. John Tanner, took a trip to Edinburgh for five days last month. The trip seemed include more pleasure... more
Facebook: A friend request from “Big Brother.”
According to a New York Times article posted on Saturday, state and federal agencies are increasingly monitoring social networking sites. The piece in the New York Times recounts a story in the Wall Street Journal this summer, about state revenue agents trolling Facebook and Myspace for tax cheats. It also mentions a piece in the Boston Globe, which quotes a Massachusetts district attorney as saying some local police officers had gone undercover on social networking sites, as part of ongoing investigations.... more
Eatin’ Good in the ‘Hood – Success!
Sorry YSPers, I’ve been visiting family in the South, or as T.I. calls it: the “dirty dirty” for like a week. Our Thanksgiving fundraiser, Eatin’ Good in the Hood didn’t exactly meet our expectations. However, it was still a huge success. While we were only able to raise about 14% of our goal, we were still able to feed 5 families. That’s 25% of our goal! This is because we estimated each Thanksgiving dinner at $40, but we were actually able to feed each family... more
The 14th Fort Hood Victim
Abort73.com is a right to life website that sells clever, pro-life merchandise. Many of their t-shirts cast abortion in a different light, challenging people to re-evaluate their position. One of my favorite Abort73 shirts poses a very interesting question: “Would it bother us more if they used guns?” The U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command will soon answer that question. Fort Hood shooter, Nidal Hasan, was charged with 13 counts of murder last Thursday, as he lay in a hospital... more
Buzz Kill
Editor’s Notes: This is my first post for Andrew Breitbart’s BigGovernment.com. It has to do with all things young and sexy, i.e. booze and fun. As always, a government agency proves to be the antithesis of such things. Enjoy! Many remember a creation, or rather concoction of The Drew Carey Show, Buzz Beer. The delightfully titled beverage was a mix of coffee and a presumably dark beer… stout perhaps. Buzz Beer almost became a character of its own, as it evolved into an ongoing... more
Re-punk-licans
Because Speaker Pelosi left me no choice, I spent my now very depressing Saturday night watching C-SPAN, in lieu of Florida’s 7th conference win over Vandy. From what I can gather, I didn’t miss much. However, I could’ve caught the USC game and the wildest Arizona State interception ever, if it weren’t for late-night legislation on a Saturday! For those of you that had a decent evening, I’ll recap… Last week, I wrote an update piece on The Affordable Health Care... more
D-Bag of the Week: Howard Stern
This week’s d-bag is the king of x-rated radio. He is undeniably one of America’s sleaziest. However, it’s not his pornographic content that has earned him a “baggy.” YSP unequivocally stands for free speech, no matter how smut-laden it may be. Howard Stern’s crime is much worse than saying “tits” or “fuck” on the air. Howard Stern has gone from lewd, to just plain reckless. We’ve all seen the Howard Stern guerilla marketing campaign:... more
Saturday Showdown
House Democrats don’t seem too concerned with public perception or negative momentum, with regard to their massive health care overhaul. According to the Washington Post, the House will take a vote on the now 2,032 page health care bill, in a rare Saturday evening session, while we’re all watching Florida pummel Vanderbilt… how convenient. The Affordable Health Care for America Act was unveiled by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, just one week ago. At its inception, it was 973 pages... more
