YSP greatly values the private sector, especially small businesses. We too are a small business, so that’s who our advertising is geared toward. We’re aware that most small businesses don’t have an art department or graphic designers on staff. Luckily, we do. When you advertise with YSP, you get the full product, from start to finish. We’ll even help you implement a marketing scheme our readers will respond to. After all, we know them best!
When you order an ad package, we call you to discuss your advertising needs and make sure you get exactly what you want. Once we have some ideas, we design an ad for you. Plus, if you purchase a 12-month subscription, we allow you to change your ad campaign up to four times per year, or once per quarter! This is great for businesses that have holiday programs, special incentives or annual sales. Then, we link your ads to a website or URL of your choice!
For such a specialized service, I’m sure you’d expect to pay more than what Google charges. Well, Sorry to disappoint. No one can touch our prices, including Google. Here’s the cheapest ad Google offers:
Pretty cheap huh? The way Google’s pricing works, you could end up paying 50 cents per impression for this boring ad (we’ll put that in perspective soon, just sit tight). Look how dull and drab this thing is. It’s text only AND you have to share it with 4 of your competitors! How are you supposed to brand your product, or grab someone’s attention with that?! We actually display a few Google ads, but we refuse to run this one. It’s just too ugly.
Our average cost per impression is just 10 cents! In fact, most of our ads are under 2 cents! Plus, like I said, we run Google ads. So… if you advertise with Google, you’ll still end up on YSP. It will just cost you more and won’t look as good.
We offer 12 month, 6 month, and 1 month subscriptions. 12 month subscriptions are by far the most cost effective. But if you can’t afford to pay all at once, you can subscribe month-to-month with our 1 month subscriptions, at a slightly higher rate. The Postheader
This isn’t our flashiest ad and definitely not the most cost effective. However, it’s very inexpensive for advertisers who want to start small. The postheader also has the advantage of being embedded directly in posts. That makes it hard for readers to miss, and means your ad will be seen by readers who read YSP offsite, through email subscription or homepage syndication.
When you purchase postheader space, your ad will be placed at the top and bottom of 3 posts per month. Posts generally get around 100 reads. After about a week, they become somewhat irrelevant, because a week in this business is a lifetime! However, I often reference older posts and link back to them, in order to make joke or prove a point.
But assuming a post only ever gets 100 reads, you would get 600 total impressions. 2 ads (top and bottom) x 3 posts x 100 reads = 600 impressions.
That puts the cost of each impression at 25 cents, on a 12 month subscription.
The Small Sidebox
The small sidebox is one of our best budget options. Its shape allows for all kinds of content and information to be displayed, in an eye-catching way. Unlike the postheaders, these ads run on every single page of YSP.
Right now, YSP averages 20,000 page views per month. If you purchase just one small sidebox, your ad will be seen 20,000 times. Talk about bang for your buck! That puts the cost of each impression at just 1 cent, on a 12 month subscription!
The Mini-banner
The mini-banner is also an excellent option for advertisers on a budget. At just $50 more than a small sidebox, it offers a few extra perks. The mini-banner can be animated, to display your content however you want! This makes them not only more eye-catching, but more informative as well. The mini-banner’s position on each page also makes it one of the first thing readers see.
Mini-banners also appear on every single page of YSP, right near the top! On a 12 month subscription, each impression costs just 1.3 cents.
The Large Sidebox
This is a very popular ad due to its size, shape, and location. The large sidebox is where you’ll really start to gain an edge over other advertisers. These things are huge, so there’s no way readers can miss them. Their size is not only noticeable, but it allows for an enormous amount of information to be displayed. Your prospective customers will have no doubt about what your company does best!
The large sidebox runs on every single page of YSP. So, with a 12 month subscription, each impression costs just 1.7 cents!
The Headbanner
The headbanner is where you go to absolutely crush the competition. It’s the Cadillac, primetime, main event of YSP advertising! Aside from our logo, this is the first thing readers see. They’re also the largest ad we offer. They’re so big, that we couldn’t even fit an actual size model in this post! Not to worry, they’re at the top of every single page. The headbanner is where ads come alive, to convey a message to prospective customers. We animate these ads to look flashy and tell a story. Consider them a mini-movie that will take YSP readers from being just that, to being your customers!
We use a code that allows us to have multiple advertisers share the headbanner space. That means, if you purchase a headbanner, your ad will randomly pop up with each page load. If 10 advertisers have a headbanner subscription, you’re still looking at 2,000+ page impressions (20,000 page views/10 headbanner subscribers) per month. That means each impression only costs 22 cents with a 12 month subscription!
YSP continues to grow…
The prices per impression are based on the amount of traffic YSP currently receives. But Since its inception, YSP has continued to grow. Each month, we attract more readers and well known contributors. As our site grows, so will your business. Plus, your advertising investment will only become more cost effective. The price you pay is the price you pay. Period. When we double our traffic… you’ll get double the impressions! Since you will have already paid us, it will be as if you got the extra advertising for free! We have sort of an open bar mentality-we’ll never cut you off at 20,000.
Our product is absolutely awesome and so are our prices. You could draw up an ad yourself, photocopy it in black and white at your local grocery store, and distribute it around your neighborhood.
